BFR Fundamentals.

Blood flow restriction from the ground up: screening, limb occlusion pressure, dosing, and application in rehab and in training. Cuffs on real limbs for over half the day.

What you leave able to do.

No BFR experience is needed. The day is built so that a clinician who has never put a cuff on leaves able to screen, measure, dose and run BFR safely on Monday, and a clinician who already uses it leaves with a defensible standard for how it is done.

More than half of the contact time is lab. You screen a partner, measure limb occlusion pressure, set pressure, run sets, and get checked off on each skill.

You leave able to
  • Measure limb occlusion pressure and set cuff pressure as a percentage of it, upper and lower limb
  • Screen for contraindications and VTE risk before every session, with the reasoning documented
  • Dose low-load BFR for rehab: load, reps, rest, frequency, progression
  • Apply BFR in training and in season, in the weight room and on the floor
  • Recognize and manage the problems that come up with cuffs on real limbs
Who it is for
  • Clinicians adding BFR to their practice
  • Clinics standardizing how BFR is done
  • Athletic trainers and strength coaches adding BFR to the training room
  • Anyone who wants the Post-Op Knee course and has not used BFR yet
you'll run this with your athletes the following week.
